Mining Capital's Alastair Ford talks up strong gold prices in 2018

Mining Capital's Alastair Ford chats about how ongoing strength in the global economy is powering mining, with mining company share prices doing well compared to a few years ago.

Two elements contributing to this are more demand for metals and how much they can sell metals for -- a weaker dollar is contributing to higher metals prices.

Small gold operations in the market need to factor in how sterling is doing against the dollar, since they will be spending in pounds to mine the gold. Ford says the outlook for gold miners already in production is favorable.
