Mumbai Gem Center Rebrands as IIG

RAPAPORT... India-based Shreeji Rajendra Diamond Classes(SRDC) has changed its name to the InternationalInstitute of Gemology (IIG), reflecting the global focus of its educationalcourses, it said last week. The gemological center also inaugurated itsnew Panchratna Building location in the Opera House area of Mumbai in aceremony on July 19. "Thenew avatar of our prestigious institute, IIG, represents our efforts to provideeach student with the latest in international training and technology, so thatthe gems and jewelry industry, a heritage sector of India, may be on par withglobal standards," said IIG managing director Rahul Desai.
