NEWSBREAK: US targets 25% import tax on Chinese aluminium under Section 301, China warns retaliation

Chinese aluminium and aluminium products are among a list of 1,300 items that the United States is targeting with a 25% import tax following its Section 301 investigation - a move which the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said it "strongly condemns and firmly opposes."

The office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) on Tuesday April 3 released a proposed tariff list on Chinese products which included unwrought aluminium, aluminium alloys, aluminium and aluminium alloy fabricated products such as bars, rods, profiles, sheets, plates, strips and foil, as well as steel and stainless steel products.
