(IDEX Online) - The Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) held its annual Israel Diamond Week from April 10-12, welcoming Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) members to its new premises for the first time.

As in the past, members of both bourses exhibited their goods on the DDC trading floor, now located at 50 West 47th Street.

"I believe this will be a successful year for both the US and Israel [markets]," said Ezra Boaron, Chairman of the IDE's Exhibition Committee. "I see a good future in front of us."

The Israel Diamond Week was the third event to be hosted on the DDC's new trading floor in the IGT building since its inaugural show in January, the India Diamond Week, with a collaboration with the Shanghai Diamond Exchange following it.

"Our goal when we first started hosting these interbourse shows was always to create an avenue for our members to get to know one another and to pave the way for future business between members of bourses all over the world," said DDC President, Reuven Kaufman. "Orders and sales that are made at the show are a bonus to the invaluable relationships and contacts that form, and are revitalized, during the DDC Diamond Weeks."

DDC member Elliot Krischer of Esskay Gems said, "The show is a very convenient way for us to see a lot of companies from all over the world who are very interested in selling and set fair prices. We bought a lot of goods. We discovered new companies who we now are buying from and [can] continue relationships on a one-to-one basis [with companies] who we usually don't see."

Rivka Siyance of SB Diamond Corp, a DDC member who exhibited at the show, said, "The club looked really great and there were some serious people and serious goods."

The DDC said it looks forward to "continuing its efforts to enhance the industry and offering opportunities to strengthen the diamond industry at large."
