(Kitco News) - Novo Resources (TSX: NVO) announcedtoday that operations have resumed at its Golden Eagle processing facility inAustralia.
The company said that theGolden Eagle Mill underwent opportunistic maintenance for approximately sevendays while the company repaired its main crushing unit after encounteringadditional wear during routine scheduled maintenance.
"Crusher repairs are nowcomplete, and the Golden Eagle Mill was re-started today as a result," thecompany noted in a statement.
Mining operations continuedduring the shut, and stockpiles have increased to approximately 370,000 tonnesas a result, putting the operation in a strong position leading into the wetseason, Novo added.
In addition, the companyadvised that the first phase of a raise to its tailings storage facility iscomplete and the requisite operating licence has been issued by the WesternAustralian Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
"This phase will provideapproximately 12 months of processing capacity. Completion of the second phaseis scheduled for early 2022. This second phase will provide approximatelyanother 12 months of processing capacity, in addition to the 12 months providedby the first phase," the company said.
Novo operates its flagshipBeatons Creek gold project while exploring and developing its prospective landpackage covering approximately 13,250 square kilometres in the Pilbara regionof Western Australia.
