Ontario's Government for the People is supporting local industry and creating 10 jobs for the people of Emo with a $1.375 million investment in two businesses through the province's Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).

Today Greg Rickford, Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, visited Manitou Forest Products to announce support for Manitou Forest Products and Henry's Trucking.

"Supporting Emo's forestry industry is good for people and good for business in the North," said Minister Rickford. "These investments build on our plan to bring quality jobs back to Ontario by lowering taxes, stabilizing hydro bills and cutting job-killing red tape."

NOHFC investments announced include $462,500 for Henry's Trucking to expand its forest harvesting operations by purchasing new logging equipment, creating three full-time jobs. Manitou Forest Products is receiving $913,657 for new equipment and building refurbishments that will increase production and allow year-round operation of the sawmill building, creating seven full-time jobs.
