Prolific Lulo Mines Yields Three More +100-carat Stones

(IDEX Online) - The Lulo mine, in Angola, has yielded three more stones over 100 carats, bringing the total since it opened in five years ago to 22.Lucapa Diamond Company says it recovered a 131-carat is a Type IIa D-color diamond, a 118-carat brown diamond and a lower quality 133-carat grey diamond.All three were found at the highly prolific Mining Block 46 of its alluvial mine downstream of the Canguige tributary that drains into the Cacuilo River valley.The Australian miner and its partners, Endiama and Rosas & Petalas said in a statement: "Six +100 carat diamonds have been recovered from Mining Block 46 in the last three.months, reaffirming its recent elevation to the Lulo mining block with the best +100 carat diamond occurrence rate - one +100 carat diamond for every ~20,000 bcm's of gravel."Pic shows three +100 carat diamonds and two +50 carat diamonds recovered from MB46
