RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Mills begin to reduce sheet steel prices on poor demand

Offer prices for hot-rolled (HR) and cold-rolled (CR) steel sheet in Russia's Central region around Moscow, the principal steel-consuming region in the country, have started to go down after rising repeatedly since January.

Metal Bulletin's weekly assessment of the price for Russia-origin 4mm HR sheet was 46,100-46,200 roubles ($741-742) per tonne cpt Moscow on Monday June 4, including VAT. This narrowed downward from 46,100-46,400 roubles per tonne a week earlier.Severstal, one of two major flat steel suppliers to the Central region, reduced its offers for stockists to around 46,200 roubles per tonne cpt Moscow, from 46,400 roubles per tonne at the end of May.This means that current prices for Severstal's material are almost level...
