(IDEX Online) - A jewelry store employee was shot in the chest after confronting armed raiders in Illinois, USA.His condition was described by local media as critical but stable following the attack at Reichman Jewelers (pictured), in Oak Lawn.Police say three masked male black offenders entered the store, pulled out guns and disarmed the security guard, on 1 July.They then started smashing display cases and stealing jewelry.The injured employee was shot in the upper chest and the wrist when he challenged the raiders as they left the building by a rear exit. They fled in a silver sedan, captured in a surveillance image.Locals said the jeweler, a family firm founded in 1908, brought in a security guard after a number of earlier robberies.
