SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Export prices continue to weaken

Export prices for Southern European rebar have widened downward by ?,?5 per tonne week-on-week amid continued low market activity, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday April 18.

Metal Bulletin's weekly export price assessment for Southern European rebar was ?,?470-485 ($581-600) per tonne fob main ports on Wednesday, compared with ?,?475-485 per tonne on April 11.The assessment widened downward on a cargo sold from Southern Europe to East Africa."It's a mixed market where some people are selling at around ?,?470 per tonne fob while, on the other end, prices around ?,?515 per tonne fob or even higher are now possible into the [United States]," one Southern European producer source said.Italian mills were also reported to have sold material into the US...
