Singapore's rebar import prices rise on improved demand

Import prices for rebar in Singapore increased slightly over the past week amid improved spot demand.

Metal Bulletin's assessment of import prices for rebar in Southeast Asia - which mainly looks at cargoes sold into Singapore on a theoretical weight basis - was $540-550 per tonne cfr for the week to Monday June 11, up from $540-545 per tonne from the preceding week.Major Chinese mills offered their products at $550 per tonne fob, which is equivalent to about $570 per tonne cfr Singapore. This is up from $560-570 per tonne cfr Singapore a week earlier.But these were priced out by cargoes...
