(IDEX Online) - Police have arrested six suspects after a series of smash and grab robberies at jewelry stores in Michigan and Ohio, USA.Gang members are believed to have targeted six separate stores at different malls in a 12-day period, from 13 January until they were apprehended 24 January.They are said to have used rental or stolen vehicles in the robberies, said the the Troy Police Department.The first raid was at Helzberg Diamonds, at the Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills, Michigan.They were arrested after the sixth raid, at Sparkles Jewelry, Sterling Heights, Michigan. Police recovered $170,000 of jewelry taken from the store. Five suspects have been charged with armed robbery, one was charged with unarmed robbery as well as resisting and obstructing, according to Eaton County Sheriff's Department.Pics of suspects courtesy the Troy Police Department.
