Supply concerns persist in seaborne coking coal market

Unfavorable weather conditions in Queensland, Australia have left buyers of seaborne coking coal anxious about how they might affect supply, though some services on the state's coal rail network have been restarted following recent disruptions.

Some sections of the Goonyella line in the Central Queensland Coal System were re-opened to traffic on Thursday February 22 following track inspections this morning, rail freight operator Aurizon said. The other three lines in the Central Queensland Coal Network are open and operating, it added. But the operator cautioned that forecast storms and rain could affect rail operations in some regions and keep them from running normally.The Goonyella system services the Bowen Basin coal region in Queensland and connects to export terminals at Hay...
