Producers of aluminium 226 diecasting ingot in Europe are feeling a margin squeeze after a 13% drop in secondary aluminium alloy prices this week while scrap prices stayed firm.
Metal Bulletin's assessment of secondary aluminium 226 diecasting ingot prices fell for a third consecutive week to ?,?1,800-1,850 ($2,109-2,168) per tonne on Friday May 25, from ?,?1,830-1870 per tonne the week before. Increases in supply, tenders and some participants willing to sell at lower levels contributed to the price drop.
