I feel like I have discovered one of the most important principles in Bible Prophecy, and it answers many of my own questions about the parables of Jesus, and it ties together nearly everything I have learned of Bible Prophecy.
The biggest mystery and unanswered question that I had, after my study of the prophecy of the rapture, was about the parables of Jesus. Many of the parables are on the subject of money, and growth, and have apparently nothing at all to do with the rapture of the saints. So, why? What's up with that? What does the rapture have to do with money and growth? What does money have to do with the rapture?
I couldn't figure that out for the last fifteen years. I could read commentary after commentary on the parables of Jesus, and there was nothing, no commentary that explained any relation of them to the rapture or other bigger themes in Revelation.
I could not see how or why the subjects of money and growth related to the prophecy of the rapture, which is simply the catching up to heaven of the dead and living saints and their resurrection, but also the transformation and change into immortality.
But there is a relationship there, according to what I can now see in the law and in prophecy.
In sum, the Feasts of the Lord are Sabbaths, and there are also the seven year Sabbaths, which are times of land rest, and debt release times, and slave release times. The 7 year Sabbaths and 50th year Jubilee Sabbaths are all about forgiveness of debts, and the forgiveness of usury.
The failure to observe the Sabbaths and debt forgiveness and stop usury came with it a punishment; the banishment of the Israelites from the Land of Israel, which happened when they were exiled into Babylon for 70 years in the time of Daniel. Those 70 years were multiplied by seven, which is the punishment for not repenting after the punishment of 70 years of exile. The last 70th year, became another week of years, which becomes the tribulation week in future Bible prophecy that comes after the rapture.
In essence, the seven year tribulation is a punishment for the practice of usury and the failure to forgive monetary debts during the Sabbath years!
THIS IS THE UNIFYING THEME OF PROPHECY! THE TRIBULATION IS A CURSE OF THE LAW FOR THE FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE SABBATHS, WHICH IS A FAILURE OF A MONETARY SIN, WHICH IS A FAILURE TO STOP USURY.
That is the purpose of the tribulation! It's a curse of the law.
Here is the proof of this shocking revelation.
At the end of the law, in Leviticus 23, it speaks of the Feasts of the Lord Sabbaths, and in Leviticus 25, it describes the Sabbath years of debt forgiveness and Jubilees. In Leviticus 26, it explains the punishment will be exile, for not observing the Sabbaths.
Leviticus 26:34 Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths.35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your Sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
Four times, in Leviticus Chapter 26, verses 18, 21, 24, and 28, God is saying that if they don't repent, the punishment will be increased by seven times, which explains why the 70 years of exile turn into 70 weeks of years of punishment, as Daniel discovers. It's interesting that Daniel had to discover this as an old man, after much prayer, and by the message of an angel, when it was so abundantly and so clearly outlined right there in the law.
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Daniel next describes two time periods that add up to only 69 weeks, so the 70th week comes later.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Seven weeks and threescore and two weeks are 7 + 62, or only 69.
It is already widely regarded among prophecy teachers that Daniel's 70th week is the tribulation week.
But it is NOT widely taught that this curse of the law is for the monetary sin of usury and failure to observe the Sabbath land rest and debt release time periods.
Why is this not taught in the Churches? Well, most people today have mortgages on their houses, and debt on their cars. Most wealthy people own bonds, and are thus usurers. A great way to offend nearly everyone in the congregation is to preach against lending at usury.
Jeremiah 15:10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.
So, it's just not taught in today's era today. If the sin of usury was widely taught in another era by the Church, I just don't know about that.
So, here's where I think it really ties together.
Why are so many of the parables of Jesus about growth parables or monetary growth parables?
I sincerely believe because Jesus is teaching, secretly, that you can really grow your money, even in this era, by avoiding usury. Also, I think Jesus is saying that without usury, economic growth for an entire economy will be tremendous. But primarily, I think Jesus is saying that in the Kingdom of God, in the Kingdom of Heaven, in the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth (See Revelation 20), there will be tremendous monetary blessings and economic growth because usury will be finally forbidden, and the ban on usury will be enforced with a rod of iron.
See also Isaiah 65, which describes the monetary blessings of the kingdom of God, that men will build houses and actually inhabit them, (implying that they won't be stolen by usury, nor taxes or other theft).
This theme, that the tribulation is a curse of the law for failure to observe Sabbaths and the failure to stop usury, also explains the mark of the beast monetary prophecy of Revelation 13. The mark of the beast is a monetary punishment.
This theme, that the tribulation is a curse of the law for failure to stop usury, also explains the identity of the great harlot of Revelation 17-18, who rules the kings of the earth. The borrower is always the slave to the lender. She rules the kings of the earth through usury, or today, through the monopoly power to print money from thin air, and then collect usury on the new money printed!
And why is she called a harlot? Because she is Israel, or Jerusalem, who should be wed to God, or the king of kings, but turns to the kings of the earth for security, rather than her husband. So, usury to the kings of the earth, is thus an act of harlotry.
Interestingly enough, the rapture itself, I believe, as do many others, should appropriately fall on a Sabbath, specifically, the Feast of Trumpets.http://bibleprophesy.org/introtrumpets.htm
But even more crucial is that Christians are not under the curse of the law. Therefore, the tribulation week, which is a curse of the Law, is not a fitting punishment for Christians who have been bought by the blood of Jesus. This point alone, proves that the rapture is most fitting to take place before the tribulation. Here are four verses that we are not under the curse.
[Gal 3:13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [Gal 5:18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. [Rom 6:14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. [1Cor 6:12] All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
This even explains why our redemption is spoken of in monetary terms.
1 Corinthians 7:23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.
Here are some more of my essays that tie together the issue of money and prophecy. But all of these were written by me before I realized the full implications of my current realization that the tribulation was a punishment due to the monetary sin of usury, which is lack of debt forgiveness, which is another way to describe the lack of the observance of the Sabbaths.

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
