Tributes to Victim of First US Jewelry Homicide

(IDEX Online) - A jeweler from Denver, Colorado has been shot dead in what is understood to be the US's first industry homicide this year.Peter Damian Arguello was found deceased at his store, Peter Damian Fine Jewelry & Antiques, in Wheat Ridge, after what police say was a "possible armed robbery" on Wednesday 29 November.Officers found a red Chevy Silverado pickup truck, believed to be connected to the homicide, the following day.On Saturday a candle-lit vigil was held outside the store for a man described as "a beloved member of the community".Fellow business owner Jeff Hurlburt of Clancy's Irish Pub, told CBS Colorado: "Peter loved and understood people. And had an empathy for people who may be in a hard time or might need help".The Jewelers' Security Alliance (JSA) says it has not recorded any other jewelry-related homicides this year.Pics courtesy Wheat Ridge Police Department.
