Turkish crude steel output down 4% in October

Turkey produced 3.20 million tonnes of crude steel in October 2018, a 4.30% decrease compared with October 2017, according to the Turkish Steel Producers Association (T???oeD).

In January-October 2018, crude steel production in the country was 31,289,000 tonnes, a 0.78% year-on-year rise compared with 31,048,000 tonnes produced in January-October 2017, T???oeD said this week.The country produced 10,478,000 million tonnes of slab in January-October, up by 7.06% year-on-year from 9.787 million tonnes in the corresponding period in 2017.Meanwhile, steel billet production was 20.811 million tonnes in the first ten months of 2018, down by 2.12% from 21.261 million tonnes in January-October 2017.The volume of steel produced in Turkey using electric-arc furnaces increased by 1.55% to 21.763 million tonnes in January-October...
