UK FERROUS SCRAP: October prices rolled over amid stable market conditions

UK ferrous scrap prices for deliveries in October have been rolled over due to stable business conditions in both the domestic and export markets, trade sources told Metal Bulletin on Thursday October 12.

Some UK suppliers have managed to achieve small price increases of a few pounds per tonne but, overall, monthly settlement prices were concluded unchanged between the country's suppliers and consumers.This followed a ?10 ($13) per tonne drop in September delivery prices."One major supplier agreed a rollover with its customers quite early on, and that set the scene for the rest of us," one industry source told Fastmarkets."There were a couple of guys pushing for an extra ?5-10 per tonne increase, but they eventually accepted the inevitable," he added."There were some very minor adjustments due to incorrect pricing in September, but overall [it was] a simple negotiation with agreement from both sides," one major supplier said.UK steel scrap...
