WD Launches Traceable Lab-Grown Brand

RAPAPORT... WD Lab Grown Diamonds has introduced a new brand it said offered fully traceable, US-grown and guaranteed conflict-free synthetic stones. The company, which has achieved a sustainability rating through SCS Global Services, noted Tuesday individual third-party certifications would accompany each Latitude stone.Latitude's chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamonds are graded by independent gemological laboratories, the company explained, claiming all stones were 100% third-party-certified climate neutral. The brand also stands for sustainable production practices as well as environmental, social and governance principles, it added. "With [the] launch of our premium brand Latitude, we answer the consumer's demand for transparency and inclusivity in our category," said CEO Sue Rechner.Latitude diamonds will be available through upcoming brand and designer partnerships as well as a selective international network of authorized retailers.Image: Lab-grown diamonds from WD's Latitude line.
