(IDEX Online) - The lab-grown diamond sector continues to strengthen its leadership. WD Lab Grown Diamonds has appointed Sue Rechner, former global president of Merrell, as its CEO.
Read was also president of Victorinox Swiss Army and CEO of Victorinox Swiss Army Watch and has leadership experience with global brands such as Movado, Seiko, Citizen and Frederick Goldman.
"I see WD as a leading force in transforming an industry that has been historically plagued by traceability issues, which is an issue of growing importance with an increasing number of conscientious consumers," said Read in a statement.
In 2018, private equity firm Huron Capital made a significant equity investment in WD Diamonds in 2018 to expand the company's capacity and drive accelerated growth.
WD was founded in 2008 and produces large, high-quality diamonds for the jewelry, scientific and industrial markets.
