RAPAPORT... The board of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) has elected Yoram Dvash for a three-year term as chairman, it said Wednesday.Dvash, who announced he was stepping down as president of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) last week, will succeed Boaz Moldawsky, who resigned a week ago.Although Dvash had planned to focus on his leadership position at the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), which he began in April, he took on the chairmanship following encouragement from the industry."I have received hundreds of requests from industry members to take on the role of IDI chairman, and felt I could not refuse," Dvash noted. "Although I had decided to take a break from public service, working for this industry is in my blood. The tremendous support that I have received only strengthens my commitment to do my best in this position."The Israel Diamond Institute is a nonprofit company that represents all institutions in the Israeli diamond industry and works to promote Israel as a global diamond hub.Image: Yoram Dvash.
