A look into cryptocurrencies for 2018

Heading into New Years, we posted a cryptocurrency poll to see how our Canadian Insider community felt about the cryptocurrency craze.

Thank you once again to those who participated. We have pulled together the key findings. A good number (36%) of the responses said they are interested in cryptocurrencies but haven't bought any yet while only 31% had no interest.

In total 69% of respondents were interested. Of those interested, the biggest factors holding them back were a lack of research and uncertainty about the trustworthiness of cryptocurrencies.

Over the past months, we've noticed a mushrooming of cryptocurrency and blockchain companies as well as cryptocurrency exchanges. I believe exchanges have to not only match buyers and sellers but they will also need to educate and gain the trust of investors. Knowledge and education will be the key to their success.
