A380.1 price pushed up by scrap, Nasaac

The price for secondary aluminium alloy A380.1 rose on Monday December 9 following a month-long stasis, boosted by gains in the London Metal Exchange's North American special aluminium alloy contract (Nasaac) and firming scrap prices.

Fastmarkets assessed the price for aluminium alloy A380.1, delivered Midwest, at 62-64 cents per lb on December 9, up from 61-63 cents per lb previously - a range that had been maintained since November 7. The premium is still down by 28% from 87-88 cents per lb on December 10, 2018.Some deals were shared at the 64-cent-per-lb level, while deals and valuations at 61 cents per lb were no longer heard in the market.One producer told Fastmarkets that he is now quoting spot material at 65...
