Angel Abbud-Madrid, director of the Center for Space Resources at Colorado School of Mines, was recently interviewed by National Geographic and Science about the discovery of ice cliffs on Mars. The eight cliffs expose what scientists believe is nearly pure water ice up to 100 meters thick, according to findings published this week in Science magazine.

From the National Geographic article:

"It's looking more encouraging that water ice could be available at depths shallow enough that could be used as resources for human missions to Mars," says Angel Abbud-Madrid, the director of the Center for Space Resources at the Colorado School of Mines.
