Alrosa, NCDIA Asia Host Colored-Diamond Seminar

RAPAPORT... Alrosa and the Natural Color Diamond Association (NCDIA) Asia willhost a seminar on colored diamonds at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. The session, named "How the World of Natural Colour DiamondsContinues to Evolve," will cover Alrosa's polished-diamond division, and theminer's increased focus on colored-diamond manufacturing. Representatives from Alrosa's polished branch will speak at the event, includinggeneral manager Pavel Vinikhin and deputy director for sales Evgeny Tsybukov. They willjoin Ren Lu, a professor at China University of Geosciences' Gemmological Institute and a former senior scientist at the Gemological Institute ofAmerica. Rapaport Senior Analyst Avi Krawitz willmoderate the panel. Alrosa will also auction a collection of colored diamonds atthe fair, it said earlier this week. The "True Colour" collection includes an11-carat purple-pink stone, as well as an orangey-yellow diamond weighing more than 15 carats.
