Alrosa, a world leading diamond miner, will hold its annual True Colors auction of fancy color diamonds for the second time in upcoming September. Alrosa held its first auction for fancy color diamonds in 2018 as part of its strategy to become a recognized, authoritative source for fancy color diamonds.
Prospective buyers can view the diamonds during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, from the 16th to the 20th of September. The auction will end on September 23.
Alrosa's current True Colors collection consists of more than 200 polished fancy color diamonds in various shapes. The collection includes an 18.07-carat, IF, pear-cut intense yellow diamond; a 6.78-carat, emerald cut, vivid yellow diamond, a pair of pear-shaped vivid purplish pink diamonds (0.54-carat, VVS1 and 0.55-carat, IF).
The majority of these stones are accompanied by GIA grading reports. In addition, all the collection's diamonds are accompanied "by an extended digital 'passport', which contains the information about the date and place of mining, characteristics, and even information about the cutter and his professional experience." To provide the end-consumer with extensive data about the origin of the diamond, a special video is available for each diamond or pair of diamonds.
At Alrosa's first True Colors auction in 2018, 210 fancy color diamonds were sold.
