Alrosa has increased its contribution to the coronavirus relief efforts in the Yakutia region to $4.2 million, it said Wednesday.The funds will be used to purchase medical equipment and supplies, as well as personal protective gear, in Russia's Yakutia region, where Alrosa mines. The miner will give RUB 25 million ($336,425) to local hospitals in the Mirny and Lensky districts, and RUB 23 million ($309,511) to Yakutia's Ministry of Health to purchase coronavirus test kits. The Russian company will also provide six mobile labs to run express testing for COVID-19.Last week, the company announced it was donating RUB 147 million ($2 million) in aid.
