ALUMINA ROUND-UP: Fob Aus price stabilizes below $280/t, participants focused on 2020

The benchmark fob Australia alumina price stabilized around $278 per tonne on Thursday November 21 during a low-liquidity week.

Fastmarkets calculated the benchmark daily alumina index, fob Australia, at $278.65 per tonne on Thursday, little changed from $278.86 per tonne on the previous day - and down from $281.10 a week earlier.

Alumina prices remained rangebound this week, with a lack of fresh deals to provide new direction. A number of market participants said they were focusing on securing their material for 2020.The last deal was concluded on a cif China basis for Western Australian material at $303 per tonne...
