Aluminium primary foundry alloy (PFA) premiums in Europe surpassed their all-time highs on Friday April 9, while the US premium soared to its highest level in nearly 21 months.

Premiums for aluminium primary foundry alloy hit their highest levels since Fastmarkets started tracking the market in 2015, bolstered by rising P1020 premiums and logistical complications that have forced growing numbers of consumers to go to the spot market in recent weeks.
Fastmarkets' assessment of the
aluminium primary foundry alloy silicon 7 ingot premium, ddp Germany rose to $430-500 per tonne Friday, up from $380-420 per tonne March 12. The premium surpassed its previous all-time high of $420-460 per tonne in September 2018.
