Aluminium warrant premiums in Korea rise sharply amid warehouse outflows

Warrant traders are reporting a big spike in Korean aluminium warrant premiums amid a substantial supply shortage in the region, Fastmarkets understands.

Offers for aluminium warrants have been reported to Fastmarkets at $50-60 per tonne this week, considerably higher than earlier in the month. "You could get hold of Korean aluminium warrants for $30 per tonne a few weeks ago," a Europe-based warrant trader told Fastmarkets.This month, LME-stocks in Busan and Gwangyang nosedived, falling by 23.3% and 65% year on year respectively.
