Alunorte alumina refinery at 80-85% capacity; Albras smelter also ramping up successfully

Norsk Hydro's Alunorte alumina refinery has reached 80-85% utilization after the Brazilian government lifted a production embargo against the facility in May.

The Norwegian aluminium producer announced on Tuesday July 23 that a continued ramp-up in production at its facilities in Brazil has been successful. Capacity utilization at Alunorte, located in the northern Brazilian state of Par??, is expected to increase closer to 100% in the coming months."Alunorte reached 80-85% capacity utilization in June, within the targeted 75-85% capacity utilization for the state-of-art press filter technology...
