American values are dead, and the government sees citizens simply as subjects, said Doug Casey, who said that the decline of the country is already underway.

The safest thing for investors to do, if they could, is to diversify geographically, Casey said.

"Your main risk today is political, it's political risk. Your financial risks, your economic risks are huge. Greater than them is your political risk. Even the people that have passports don't understand that that's the property of the U.S. government and it can be taken away from you for lots of reasons," he said.
