Aperam to acquire special alloys producer VDM Metals for $540m

Stainless steel producer Aperam has purchased 100% of the shares in Germany-based special alloys producer VDM Metals for ?,?438 million ($540 million), the companies announced on Wednesday April 11.

The acquisition, which is subject to merger control approvals, is expected to be completed during the second half of 2018, Aperam said. Until the deal has been confirmed, VDM Metals and Aperam will remain separate companies.VDM Metals has five production units in Germany as well as two nickel alloy bar production sites in the US states...
