ArcelorMittal increases EU domestic coil prices by $34, sources say

The world's largest steelmaker, ArcelorMittal, has announced a price rise of ?,?30 ($34) per tonne on flat steel products, market sources told Fastmarkets on Thursday January 31.

The price increase will be applied to hot-rolled coil (HRC), cold-rolled coil (CRC) and hot-dipped galvanized coil (HDG) across Europe with immediate effect, according to market participants. ArcelorMittal has been trading such products from its March-April rolling program.Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for domestic HRC in Northern Europe was ?,?510-520 ($583-595) per tonne ex-works on January 30. The corresponding assessment for domestic HRC in Southern Europe was ?,?440-490 per tonne ex-works on the same day, with prices for the material in Italy heard at ?,?440-450 per tonne ex-works while the upper end of the assessment...
