Artificial intelligence is playing a larger role in the mining space, with one company taking on the task of collecting and sifting through large data sets for miners.
Denis Laviolette, CEO of GoldSpot Discoveries, said that there are some common misconception around the term "A.I."
"The overall field of data science, everyone sort of coins as A.I. In reality, we're not building a computer that is a sentient entity, it's really a list of tools, a toolbox if you will, of data analytics," Laviolette told Kitco News on the sidelines of the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference.
