ASIA STEEL SCRAP DIGEST: Bangladesh resumes US deep-sea scrap imports

Bangladesh has returned to the deep-sea import market with another deal over the past week, market sources told Fastmarkets on Thursday September 23.

At least one deal for United States-origin deep-sea scrap to Bangladesh was done this week, sources told Fastmarkets.
A deal was heard done during the weekend at $520 per tonne cfr Bangladesh for HMS 1&2 (80:20) and $525 per tonne cfr for shredded scrap, sources said. A second cargo was said to have been finalized to the same mill at similar prices, but no further information was available at the time of publication.
