ASIA STEEL SCRAP DIGEST: India prices down again on muted demand

Prices in the Indian import steel scrap market have dropped in recent days amid continued weak demand in the country, while power shortages are constraining Chinese scrap demand, market sources told Fastmarkets.

Prices for imported shredded scrap in containers continued to inch down in the Indian import market in the week to September 29, with demand remaining subdued.
A deal for containerized shredded scrap was heard concluded at $517 per tonne cfr in the week, down from a deal heard at $522 per tonne last week.
