AT A GLANCE: Anglo American's Q2 coking coal, iron ore output down

A summary of the second-quarter 2020 production results from British multinational mining company Anglo American, it said in its latest production report released on Thursday July 16.

In brief

The company registered an output of 4 million tonnes of metallurgical coal in the second quarter of 2020, a 32% year-on-year decline. The sharp decrease in metallurgical coal production was principally due to two underground incidents as well as longwall moves. The ratio of hard coking coal production to PCI/semi-soft coking coal was 81:19, lower than in the second quarter of 2019 at 85:15. Kumba mine's iron ore production volume decreased by 20%...
