(Kitco News) - Aura Minerals (TSX: ORA) reportedyesterday that total production across Aura's operations in Q3 2021 was 61,588gold equivalent ounces ("GEO"), an increase of 7% compared to total productionof 57,725 GEO Q3 2020.
The company said that in thefirst nine months of 2021, total production across Aura's operations was191,389 GEO. Aura added it expects to achieve higher production volumes duringthe fourth quarter of 2021.
According to the company'sstatement, in the twelve months ended September 30, 2021, its productionreached 260,353 GEO, a record for Aura.
President and CEO RodrigoBarbosa noted, "The third quarter of 2021 showed a strong production atAranzazu after the expansion of its production capacity, while EPP had excessrain, operational challenges and lower than expected grades. San Andressuspended its activities for most of the month of July. Nevertheless, wereached another 12-month period record with over 260,000 GEO and we expect tofurther increase our total production in the near future."
Despite a reduction inquarterly production in each of the last two quarters, the company said itmaintains the trend towards increasing its annual production for 2021.
Aura is a mid-tier gold andcopper production company focused on the development and operation of gold andbase metal projects in the Americas. The company's producing assets include theSan Andres gold mine in Honduras, the Ernesto/Pau-a -Pique gold mine in Brazil,the Aranzazu copper-gold-silver mine in Mexico and the Gold Road gold mine inthe United States.
In addition, the company hastwo additional gold projects in Brazil, Almas and Matup??, and one gold projectin Colombia, Tolda Fria.
