Barrick assessing revised Chilean sanctions on Pascua Lama project

Barrick Gold Corp is analyzing a revised sanction related to its Pascua Lama project issued on Wednesday January 17 by Chile's Superintendencia del Medio Ambiente (SMA), the company said.

The Pascua Lama copper, gold and silver project, located on the border of Chile and Argentina, is currently operating under a temporary closure plan in Chile. The revised sanction includes a cut in the original SMA fine imposed on Barrick in 2013...
