Beauce using new geophysical technology to survey old placer mine

Montreal-based Beauce Gold Fields (CVE: BGF) has told investors that it is presently conducting a high resolution mobile electromagnetic (TDEM) survey using a new Russian technology. The survey is examining the Rang St-Gustave Road in St-Simon-les-Mines, located in the Beauce region of southern Quebec.

The new technology measures electrical chargeability (induced polarization) and electrical conductivity at a horizontal resolution of 15 cm. It is capable of penetrating about 200 metres below the surface.

Beauce aims to find narrow auriferous zones and identify conductive targets for further testing. The company said a geophysical survey done in 2017 along Rang St-Gustave Road already identified a major fault under the former Beauce Placer Company mine of the 1960s and under the former St-Gustave gold mine of 1910.
