President Biden recently issued a warning to Russia, the state suspected of backing the Colonial Pipeline hackers, that America would retaliate against perpetrators should "critical infrastructures" be attacked via hacking.
Whatever his message is intended to convey, investors can expect a rise in cyber threats well into the future, said Trish Regan, award-winning financial journalist and founder of the Trish Intel Podcast.
"You're going to have more attacks," Regan told Michelle Makori, editor-in-chief of Kitco News. "Whether they're coming from China, whether they're coming from Eastern Europe, whether they're coming from within the United States...who knows, we need to be arming ourselves against these threats."
