Blister copper RC ticks upward in June; major producers plan July stoppages

Interest in China for imported blister copper remained lackluster in June, with copper buyers showing a preference for domestic blister and copper scrap, Fastmarkets heard on Friday July 2.

Refining charges (RC) for the intermediate product ticked upward last month, with more availability, and suppliers noting a lack of appetite for extra units.
Fastmarkets assessed the copper blister 98-99% RC, spot, cif China, at $220-250 per tonne on June 30, widening upward slightly from $220-240 per tonne a month earlier.
