RAPAPORT... Bonhams has appointed Tim Bourne (pictured) as international directorof watches for Asia, where he will begin work at the end of February, the auctionhouse said last week. Bourne's "trackrecord of success and proven business acumen will help us establish and buildour presence among watch collectors in southeast Asia and the Far East," said Matthew Girling, global CEO for Bonhams. The industry veteran has more than 20 years ofexperience. He was previously worldwide head of watches at Sotheby's, and international co-head of Christie's watch department.Bourne is the first watch-department director for Asia atBonhams since Nick Biebuyck left to join Christie's in April 2016. He will bebased at the company's Hong Kong office.
