(IDEX Online) - Botswana need more diamond experts, said the country's Minister of Minerals and Energy during visit to a new factory in the capital Gaborone opened by Dubai-based StarGems."There must be increased numbers of experts in this particular industry," said Lefoko Moagi, as reported by the Chinese state news agency Xinhua.StarGems aims to recruit 500 people to work at the $20m Diamond Training Center which opened last month. So far it says it has 117 local polishers and 27 expat trainers.The company plans to process up to 3,000 carats a month by the end of the year, using the fully-automated the DaVinci system to brute, cut and facet the diamonds.
