Brazil flat steel distributor sales up 16% in Jan 2021 - Inda

Flat-rolled steel distributors in Brazil reported a 16.2% year-on-year increase in sales volumes during January, while daily rates reached their highest level in seven years, national distributor association Inda said on Tuesday February 23.

Sales volumes reached 324,600 tonnes in January, up from 279,400 tonnes a year before, Inda data shows, while the daily average was 16,200 tonnes, the highest on record for January since 17,600 tonnes in 2014.
Purchases from distributors came to 335,900 tonnes in January, up by 13% from 297,300 tonnes year on year, Inda data shows.

Inventories were at 686,900 tonnes at the end of the first month of 2021, 1.7% higher than 675,700 tonnes in December 2020....
