Brazil presents prospectivity mapping for 4 new areas

Brazilian Ministry of Mines, at the annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) released a catalog with prospective maps to attract new investments in mineral research in the country.

The catalog identifies areas in Caraj??s (copper and gold), Juma (gold), Nova Brasil??ndia (zinc, lead and copper) and Martinopole and Jaibara (gold and copper) in the northwest of Cear?? State.

New maps were also presented with information about four new areas: Gurupi Belt, a mid-tier gold province located in northeastern Brazil, Tapaj??s Mineral Province (gold) in the central part of the Amazon, the RENCA (gold) at the Guiana Shield and a studies indicating favorability for copper and gold in the Bras?-lia Belt (Goi??s Magmatic Arc).

"This is an important tool for investors to make decisions and suggest areas favorable to prospecting for gold, copper, lead, zinc and iron," said M??rcio Jos?(C) Rem?(C)dio, director of Geology and Mineral Resources at Geological Survey of Brazil in a media release.

"These tools can contribute to increasing interest in mineral research, as they help to reduce exploratory risk," said the head of the Economic Geology Division, Felipe Mattos Tavares.
