Brazil's Termomecanica to focus on expansion overseas, aluminium under new CEO

Brazilian copper and brass products manufacturer Termomecanica is set to take its internationalization plans further and to increase the focus on its recent investment in the aluminium business, while its chief executive officer of 22 years hands over to its former industrial operations director.

Regina Celi Ven??ncio, who served for more than two decades as CEO, will give way to Luiz Henrique Caveagna at the end of a 37-year tenure with the company, but will carry on as chairwoman. The change of chief executive was decided at the company's annual general meeting in April but was not announced until July 2.
Although the current strategic plans were already in motion before this change, the new CEO hopes to expand the company even further, both overseas and in the aluminium industry.
"Termomecanica has always focused on expanding, investing," Caveagna told Fastmarkets in an interview on Wednesday July 15. "But I wish to deepen that in the external markets, such as Europe, and to diversify further in aluminium products."
