Brazilian domestic flat steel prices stable, price increases planned for April

Flat steel prices in the Brazilian domestic market remained stable in March, but despite a lack of buying interest a 12% price increase is being planned for April due to the low availability of coil.

Fastmarkets' monthly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, domestic, monthly, exw Brazil, remained at 5,848-5,858 Reais ($1,054-1,055) per tonne on Friday March 12, unchanged from the previous month.

The corresponding price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, domestic, monthly, exw Brazil, stood at 6,654-6,682 Reais per tonne on Friday, while...
