Brazilian flat steel sales down 0.80% in August on weak economy

Brazilian flat steel sales volumes declined by 0.80% year-on-year in August because of the weak performance of the country's economy, according to national flat steel association Inda.

Sales from distributors totaled 299,200 tonnes last month, against 301,700 tonnes in the corresponding period in 2017, Inda said on Tuesday September 18.Flat steel sales performance has been closely following the country's overall economic growth, according to Inda president, Carlos Loureiro."We started the year in a very optimistic mood, but this positiveness has faded...
